
Terms and conditions
This document provides the foundation for the manner in which Bel Clayton commits to the conduct of her business. This document outlines an acknowledged duty of care of the celebrant's responsibilities as set out below. A separate document will outline the terms and conditions upon which the client/s will acknowledge their understanding and agreement upon, by way of a hardcopy signature.
1. Operation processes and procedures
1.1 The celebrant will provide the client with relevant information pertaining to the expectation of their ceremony.

1.2 The celebrant will dress in accordance with the client’s expectations in relation to the type of ceremony.
​
1.3 The celebrant will guide the client/s in appropriate meeting arrangements and facilitate the meetings.
​
1.4 The celebrant will be rehearsed in arriving at the ceremony venue in good time and have factored in potential travel hazards, traffic and parking etc.
​
1.5 Should the celebrant be held up in an accident or any other unforeseen situation that will necessitate a delay in arrival for the ceremony, contact details of a nominated person of the clients choice will be readily available so that contact can be made with the clients.

1.6 The celebrant will ensure that access to the venue at the specified times required for the ceremony is organised and confirmed.

1.7 The celebrant will ensure the correct pronunciation for names, titles and phrases that are to be used during the ceremony.
​
1.8 The celebrant will supply the client with several ceremony ‘package options’ which will be open to negotiation of price depending on any adjustments made by the client.

1.9 The booking is confirmed upon receipt of deposit payment as acknowledged by email, by the celebrant.
2. Privacy and confidentiality
2.1 The celebrant will ensure that all matters pertaining to the celebrants work with client/s will remain private between only the celebrant and the client/s unless otherwise instructed by the client/s.

2.2 All correspondence between the celebrant and the client/s will remain confidential by way of private password with any digital form of correspondence and any hardcopy documentation will be stored in a key lock filing cabinet.
3. Invoicing and refunds
3.1 To secure a wedding date appointment with the celebrant a deposit of $250.00 is required as acknowledged by email, by the celebrant. This will be deducted from the cost of the ceremony 8 weeks before the ceremony when the balance of the payment will be made. A 50% deposit will be required once we have completed the Notice Of Intended Marriage together at our initial meeting.

3.2 Refer to Terms and Conditions documentation for any information pertaining to refunds.
4. Document recording and storage
4.1 The privacy of the client/s is of utmost importance (see 2.2). All legal documents pertaining to the marriage will be kept in a hardcopy version filed in a lockable filing cabinet.
5. Equipment maintenance
5.1 It is the celebrant’s responsibility to maintain excellent working condition of all equipment (such as PA and microphone) for the smooth running of the ceremony. Back up batteries and other alternative options for such devices will be available at the ceremony.

5.2 Subscriptions for legal downloading of music and other media will be updated and maintained regularly.

5.3 If there is a threat of physical danger to the celebrant or guests by operating electrical equipment in unfavourable weather conditions, the celebrant has the right to cease the service until further notice or when safely able to continue.
6. Stationary ordering
6.1 The celebrant will order legal forms for the ceremony through the official government website to ensure the most current documentation is used.

6.2 The celebrant will bring extra copies of the legal paperwork forms to the ceremony in the rare event of hand-written error at the ceremony.
